More information about Mula (Wikipedia)
Mula is a town and a municipality in the Region of Murcia (Spain), located in the region of the River Mula,
of which it is the capital. The population is the head of the judicial party of the same name. It has 16,883 inhabitants (INE 2019)
1 distributed among the urban centre and various districts. The municipality is famous for the Fiestas of the Niño Jesús de Mula and the Tamborada, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Mula belongs to the same climatic domain as the city of Murcia. It enjoys a dry Mediterranean climate (arid Mediterranean) characterised by scarce and irregular rainfall with total annual rainfall that varies considerably. Annual rainfall is 340 mm, January being the driest month and October the wettest. Its average annual temperature of 18.2°C places Mula slightly above 18°C which separates the cold (BSk) and warm (BSh) variants of this type of climate. With mild winters and hot summers, it gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Temperatures range from 16°C-4°C in January to 34°C-20°C in August, although many summers they exceed 40°C.
These rainfall levels are higher in the mountainous areas of the municipality, as well as having lower temperatures, producing winter snowfalls in the Sierra del Cambrón (1528 m, the highest in the municipality), and the Muleña part of Sierra Espuña.
